spring term: week 1

This is a situation I would not have anticipated just a few months earlier. All eight hundred or so pupils surrounded me in the great hall. The headmaster spoke. Who had noticed the new face? He had a backdrop of sixth formers behind him appearing a little too old for school uniforms and yet too young for suits. The pupils were told that their education was preparing them for the global economy. There was talk of a reputation to be upheld and the importance of presentation within and outside the school. The headmaster continued with an elaborate metaphor about cricket and fielding.
Children are very funny. They think differently to adults and cut-to-the-chase with less inhibition. They will know you in an instant. They can see things you and I cannot.
My dream: I was laughing alot. (That's all I can remeber). I woke up happy and cycled to school.
